Step-by-Step Baking Instructions

1.The Filling Sauté & Flavor Infusion :Build the savory beef core.

Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the ground beef and diced onion, cooking for 8 to 10 minutes while breaking up the meat with a wooden spoon until it is completely browned and the onions are tender. Drain off any excess grease, remove from the heat, and let the mixture cool slightly. Stir in the ketchup, yellow mustard, and crumbled bacon until combined.

2.The Dough Assembly & Layering :Construct the loaded roll-up.

Preheat your oven to 190°C (375°F) and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper. On a lightly floured work surface, roll out the French bread dough into a neat 12×8-inch rectangle. Spread the seasoned beef mixture evenly over the dough, leaving a clean 1-inch border on all sides. Evenly scatter the chopped dill pickles across the beef, and lay the 8 slices of American cheese on top.

3.The Roll, Glaze, and Bake Phase :Bake to a crispy golden brown.

Starting from the long side, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Pinch the seams and tuck the ends under to seal the filling inside completely. Place the roll seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the entire top and sides with the beaten egg, sprinkle with sesame seeds, and bake f-l-ferran (in the oven) for 25 to 30 minutes until the crust is deep golden brown. Let cool for 5 minutes before slicing and serving.
