Step-by-Step Instructions: Washing & Pre-Soaking

1.Optional: Pre-Soak Heavy Odors :Required for heavily soiled gym clothes or pet bedding.

Dissolve $\frac{1}{2}$ cup to 1 cup of baking soda in 1 gallon of warm water in a tub or bucket. Submerge odorous items (gym wear, pet blankets) and soak for 30 to 60 minutes before washing.

2.Add Baking Soda to the Empty Drum :Prevents clumping and allows uniform distribution.

Measure $\frac{1}{2}$ cup of baking soda for standard loads (or 1 cup for large/heavily soiled loads). Sprinkle it directly into the bottom of the empty washer drum.

(For front-loaders, dissolve in 1 cup of warm water and pour into the drum before loading).

3.Load Laundry & Add Detergent :

Place your clothes on top of the baking soda. Fill your machine’s standard dispenser drawer with your regular liquid detergent.

4.Run Wash Cycle :Optional: Add vinegar to rinse cycle.

Select your standard wash cycle and water temperature. If desired, add $\frac{1}{2}$ cup of distilled white vinegar to the fabric softener dispenser for the rinse cycle.

Machine Maintenance & Dry Deodorizing

  • Dry Deodorizing Non-Washable Fabrics: For rugs, couch cushions, or pet beds, sprinkle baking soda liberally over the dry fabric surface. Let sit for 15 to 30 minutes to absorb ambient moisture and odors, then vacuum thoroughly using an upholstery attachment.

  • Washing Machine Maintenance Cycle: Over time, detergent buildup and mildew form inside the outer tub. Once a month, pour 1 cup of baking soda directly into the drum and run a hot water/tub clean cycle to break down grime and eliminate sour drum odors.
