⚠️ Oxalate Precaution: Purslane naturally contains oxalic acid (oxalates). In the urinary tract, free oxalates can bind with calcium to form insoluble calcium oxalate crystals, presenting a risk for individuals prone to kidney stones (renal calculi).

1.Rinse Thoroughly :Removes surface dirt and debris.

Wash fresh purslane leaves and tender stems under cool running water.

2.Blanch or Boil (2–3 Minutes) :Leaches out water-soluble oxalic acid.

Submerge greens in boiling water for 2 to 3 minutes. The water-soluble oxalates will dissolve into the cooking liquid.

3.Discard Cooking Water completely :Do NOT consume the blanching liquid.

Drain the purslane completely and discard the cooking liquid. The heat-stable omega-3 fatty acids and minerals remain preserved in the plant tissue.

4.Serve or Incorporate into Meals :Ready for salads, stir-fries, or side dishes.

Use the blanched purslane immediately in salads, soups, or sautés with olive oil and lemon.
